Tanzania has taken another strategic step toward industrial self-reliance and economic diversification with the launch of a new mining and industrial equipment parts factory in Kahama District, Shinyanga Region. The facility, located in the Buzwagi Special Economic Zone, is a joint venture between Tanzanian and foreign investors under East Africa Conveyor Supplies Limited (EACS). This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in the region, built to meet the growing demands of the mining and industrial sectors.
This new plant will manufacture high-quality conveyor equipment and splicing materials, tailored specifically to meet the needs of Tanzaniaโs booming mining sector. Beyond providing locally made solutions to a critical industry, the factory is expected to create jobs, enhance technology transfer, and reduce dependence on imported equipment.
As Tanzania continues to strengthen its industrial capacity, initiatives like this one represent a pivotal move in supporting sustainable development and regional manufacturing excellence.
